As the accommodations are ski in / ski out, skiers will be woken up by 9:00 am.  They can proceed to the hill at any time after that.  The ski lift is open from 9:00am to 4:00pm, and students can plan their own breakfast, lunch and supper around their ski day. When students are not skiing, they can go out for meals at the mountain village, as there are a variety of restaurants available, or use the kitchen facilities to prepare their own meals. If students are going to use a restaurant in the village, they are to notify a supervisor of their plans. If this is planned the night before, supervisors can be notified during room checks that evening. Hourly room checks will occur from 7:00pm until 11:30pm, when lights are to be out.

February 1st, 2020

Some additional information:

  • Accommodations: Students will be staying at the Panorama Mountain Village, in either the Horsethief Townhomes or the Toby Creek Lodge, as determined by Panorama Central Reservations. The phone number is 1 800 663 2929. The Panorama Mountain Village area can be viewed at the following website:
  • The $585 paid per student includes three nights hotel stay, the bus trip to and from Panorama, and three lift tickets for skiing/boarding.  Meals are not paid for on the trip, although the hotel accommodations provide full kitchen facilities to prepare food. A variety of restaurants are also available on sight. Students will also be responsible for whatever money deemed necessary for shopping and incidentals.
  • If your son or daughter does not have his or her own ski equipment, they will need to rent equipment from the rental shop in Panorama.  Helmets are mandatory(Rentals are not included in $585 fee and is approximately $135 for the three days)
  • I recommend that all students have some form of health insurance in place before leaving on the trip. Most students are covered under their parents’ plans, such as Blue Cross, and will not need to purchase any.  Travel insurance may be purchased if this is not the case.  The school division or school will not be held responsible for any medical expenses should unforeseen incidents take place.

Both students and parents should be aware that the Panorama 2020 Ski Trip is a school activity and all school rules apply while on the excursion.  If someone is in violation of the school Code of Conduct they will deal with the consequences upon their return to school.

We are looking forward to the ski trip and welcome any questions you may have.
