ECI Students Participate in Robotics Program

DraydenThe First Nations Robotics Workshop was a career exploration pilot to expose First Nations youth to possible careers in IT, programming, STEM concepts, and related careers. Twenty-two ECI students participated in this two week program, guided by six instructors from Winnipeg.

Cogmation Robotics Inc. delivers the Robotics training to First Nation University and College students who were hired by FPDI as Instructors for the summer Workshops. Cogmation provided on going/daily technical support as the Instructors deliver the workshops to First Nation youth participants.

Other contributing partners to the Pilot were the ICT Association of Manitoba, who contributed the use of 15 laptops donated by Hewlett Packard, Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada Youth Employment Services, Employment and Social Development Canada ASETS.
